On Friday 4th June a large amount of silt was released into the river Nidd during the course of works to install a new syphon at the Gouthwaite dam. The silt spread as far as Hampsthwaite
Work has stopped whilst the Environment Agency, Yorkshire Water and their contractors urgently look into the issues.
